£1000 Donation to Hospital
A £1,000 donation by the League of Friends of Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot has
resulted in a revamp for a side room on Ward 3.
League chairman Roy Ryman compared the transformed room with the "quality of a
hotel room" for patients.
Members Ada Hawkes, Marion Rathbone, Dorothy and Peter Standley were present for
the official unveiling of the refurbished room last week.
Sister Cheryl King, who is in charge of Ward 3.
said: "The generous gift from the league has enabled us to upgrade this side
room for use by patients needing more privacy.
"The refurbishment was carried out by our own in-house team at the estates
department of the hospital." The cash contribution formed part of a donation of
£10,000 made by the league to Heatherwood Hospital this year.
