League of Friends Heatherwood 2015 Xmas Cheer
In more recent times Heatherwood hospital has undergone some enormous changes to it's delivered services. Wards and departments have come and gone, but still providing much needed support for those departments and staff is the league of friends Heatherwood.
In the previous year the maternity unit was closed along with the mental health unit,also the minor injuries closed and the Frimley trust took over the reigns.
In 1965 the league of friends presented £50 to the hospital to be used for Christmas cheer.
Fifty years later, the Christmas gift allocation is once again warmly received by staff, the league takes great pleasure in continuing this annual event.
This year four volunteers Pauline Richardson Lesley Simm Peter and Dorothea Standley wandered the wards and corridors of Heatherwood distributing the Christmas fund envelopes to all the wards and departments.
Departments are free to use the money how they wish.
A total of £810 was distributed this year.
