League of Friends Heatherwood 2017 Xmas Cheer
League of Friends Writes:-
Our annual event for the league is to provide some Christmas cheer.
The previous year saw the publication of plans to re-build the hospital at the rear of the site and sell the existing hospital site off.
The future of the existing site was on the road to change and the league's days were numbered. This didn't deter us from continuing our annual tradition.
In 1965 the league of friends presented £50 to the hospital to be used for Christmas cheer.
Fifty two years later, the Christmas gift allocation is once again warmly received by staff, the league takes great pleasure in continuing this annual event.
This year, four volunteers Pauline Richardson Peter and Dorothea Standley and Lesley Simm wandered the wards and corridors of Heatherwood distributing the Christmas fund envelopes to all the wards and departments.
Departments are free to use the money how they wish.
A total of £790 was distributed this year.
