What Makes Heatherwood so Special ?
Often asked, what made the hospital so special ?. A combination of factors, the location, the care & treatment, the staff and hospital volunteers, they all contributed to it's reputation.
The hospital had always been a political football with various parties and managements throwing the future of the hospital into question as each year passed.
Any talk of closure or moving services away from the site always drew dismay from the local community.
