May 2009 New Accommodation Complete
In 2006 work began on the provision of new accommodation for staff and the building of apartments and houses for private sale.
Over the next two years I paid regular visits to this development to capture the changes. This section of the web site captures the changing views of buildings and progress on the site, during the construction.
This page features a walk round the site in May 2009. This is the final visit by which time all of the construction and landscaping is complete. The sales office is still present.
The building of these new properties also included a new laundry which is provided by the league of friends. Monies raised from the laundry, are used to support patients and staff.
The development has allowed the league of friends to raise a more regular income from the laundry. On the downside a large portion of land has been lost forever from the hospital and further site development for hospital services only, will be limited.
